On June 05, 2011 the North-East Festival was organized by the Assam Association Delhi at Shri Satya Sai International Center, Lodhi Road, Delhi. The program was witnessed not only by the community from the North East but also by the local populace.
The itinerary had programs which were produced, directed and participated by people who are originally from the North East but residing in Delhi NCR. The spirit of the participants and the audience created a unique atmosphere in Delhi – the entire venue turned into North East.
The auspicious lamp lighting by the members of the Association was followed by a Borgeet, sung by some of the members of the Association.
The highlights of the evening were Modern Assamese dance & Western dance performances by the young talents followed modern songs, Manipuri Stick Dance, Martial Art Dance, Mizoram’s Bamboo Dance and Bodo Dance. The audience was enthralled by these performances which renewed the passion to remain rooted to their native cultures in spite of living thousand of miles away from their homeland.
Everyone wished to witness more such events from the Association.
